Takaaki Kajita

Distinguished  University  Professor,  Nobel  Laureate  in  Physics,  Institute  for  Cosmic  Ray  Research  of  the  University of Tokyo.
Takaaki Kajita was born in Higashimatsuyama, Saitama, Japan. He studied at Saitama University and at the University of Tokyo where he received his doctorate in 1986. His doctoral advisor was the future Nobel Laureate Masatoshi Koshiba.

Takaaki Kajita is the Distinguished University Professor at The University of Tokyo, and also was the Director of the Institute for Cosmic Ray Research (ICRR) of The University of Tokyo between 2008 and 2022. He was the President of the Science Council of Japan between 2020 and 2023.Kajita received his Ph.D. from The University of Tokyo, School of Science in 1986. He has been researching at Kamiokande and Super-Kamiokande detectors at the Kamioka Observatory in central Japan.

In 1998, at the Neutrino International Conference held in Takayama, Japan, he showed the analysis results which provided strong evidence for atmospheric neutrino oscillations. In 2015 he shared the Nobel Prize in Physics for his role in discovering atmospheric neutrino oscillations. Currently, he is the PI of the KAGRA gravitational wave project.

B.V.Gusev is an outstanding scientist and organizer of science, education and educational activities. He is the author of 40 books in English, Georgian, Polish, Russian, Ukrainian and other languages, and more than 800 scientific articles. He is a famous inventor who has received more than 130 patents for inventions.

Previous Positions Held:

In 1990, B.V. Gusev was elected President of the USSR Academy of Engineering, and after the formation of the CIS countries, he headed the Russian and International Engineering Academies.

Since 2002, he has worked at the Ministry of Economic Development of the Republic of Azerbaijan (Ministry of Economy and Industry). In 2002-2007 he was the head of departments. He is the Chairman of the Public Council under the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Prof. Hayat is the first Pakistani Mathematician to be awarded the prestigious Alexander Von Humboldt fellowship. It is pertinent to mention here that he is the youngest fellow of the Pakistan Academy of Sciences and the youngest Distinguished National Professor of Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan. He has received 15 international and 12 national awards and honors. These include Research Productivity Allowance every year, Silver Medal in B.Sc (1988), M. From 2007 to 2015, he was the director of the N. Tusi Clinic. In 2015-2018, he worked as the director of another private hospital. In 2016-2019, he was the medical director of a hotel in Gabala. In 2019-2020, he was a senior consultant at the medical center. Since 2020, he has been the head of the Organizational Department of the Ministry of Health of Azerbaijan. On April 23, 2021, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan appointed Musayev First Deputy Minister of Health, and by another decree — Acting Minister of Health. On January 19, 2022, he was appointed Minister of Health.

Since 2004, he has been a Corresponding Member of the Academy of Sciences of the Chechen Republic. That same year, at the Joint Institute of Physics of the Earth, he defended his doctoral dissertation and was awarded the academic degree of Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences.In 2006, he was re-elected as Rector of the Grozny State Petroleum Institute for a new term. He was also elected as an Academician of the International Academy of Sciences of Higher Education (MAN VSh).
