Distinguished Delegates of the First General Assembly of the Asian Academy of Sciences, Esteemed Newly Elected Academicians and Associate Members,
It is with immense honour and profound pleasure that I extend my most sincere congratulations on the successful conclusion of this historic First General Assembly and on your election as the inaugural Academicians and Associate Members of the Asian Academy of Sciences. This momentous occasion heralds the dawn of a grand endeavour: the establishment of a Unified Academic and Intellectual Space of Asia (UAISA).
The UAISA embodies a novel paradigm and philosophy for integration and collaboration among Asia's scholars. It is conceived as a unified realm, characterised by a benevolent, collegial, and intellectually stimulating environment dedicated to mutual scientific cooperation, the free exchange of ideas, and synergistic interaction. We are committed to cultivating the Asian Academy of Sciences into a unique community of like-minded peers and friends, united by a shared motivation and determination to shape the future trajectory of science and technology.
I wish to underscore a point of singular distinction: the pioneering Academicians and Associate Members who constituted the Initiative Committee of the Asian Academy of Sciences are hereby granted the perpetual honorary status of "Founding Initiators of the Asian Academy of Sciences." Their names, portraits, and brief biographies shall be permanently enshrined within a dedicated section of the Academy's official archives.
The General Assembly convened with the participation of 121 delegates representing a diverse array of nations, including: China; Russia (with representation from the Republic of Tatarstan, the Chechen Republic, the Republic of Dagestan, and the Republic of Bashkortostan); India; Japan; Turkey; Azerbaijan; Georgia; Kazakhstan; Tajikistan; Uzbekistan; Kyrgyzstan; Pakistan; as well as non-Asian nations: the United States; France; Greece; Moldova and Belarus.
The electoral process saw the participation of 97 delegates, constituting a robust 80% of the total delegate count. This high quorum threshold was satisfactorily met, and the Electoral Committee duly declared the elections valid and binding.
The Assembly proceeded to elect the Academy's governing leadership, comprising the President, Vice-Presidents, Secretary-General, and Members of the Presidium. Furthermore, elections were held for the Deputy Chairs of the Scientific Council, the Chairs of various Committees, and the Heads of Scientific Sections. The Assembly also ratified the election of Full Members (Academicians), Associate Members (Corresponding Members), and Institutional Members of the Academy.
In accordance with the established agenda, the following pivotal resolutions were unanimously adopted:
·The approval of the Communiqué on the establishment of the Asian Intellectual Property Organization (AIPO) and the Asian Patent Office (APO).
·The establishment within the Academy's framework of the Asian Impact Factor Agency for Indexing Scientific Journals (AIFA).
·The establishment within the Academy's framework of the Caucasus-Central Asia Regional Center, AASc (Chairman - Academician, Professor, Dr. Adalat Muradov).
·The establishment within the Academy's framework of the Asian Institute of Economics – AIE, AASc (Director - Academician, Professor, Dr. Elshan Hajizadeh).
·The establishment of the Academy's journal, “Asian Economic Science” (Chief Editor - Academician, Professor, Dr. Elshan Hajizadeh).
·The establishment of the Academy's journal, “Asia of the Future” (Chief Editor - Academician, Professor, Emil Nasirli).
